NEW JERSEY LAVENDER GREENS Welcome to the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Lavender Green Caucus for New Jersey with Green Party members and supporters. We are not affiliated as a group with but support other Green organizations in New Jersey and, of course, many of us are members of the Green Party of New Jersey and the various locals throughout the state. Our MissionOur caucus is to provide leadership and focus for the Greens in helping to gain full and complete rights and the franchise of citizenship. Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender people are not United States citizens. True, we may be able to vote and carry passports, but we may not fully share in all the rights of citizenship provided to those perceived and identified to be our counterparts in society.
Caucus ProfileAs a state Lavender Greens organization, we will develop policies on all matters of importance for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender community. Then they will be presented to the Green Party of New Jersey to be approved in whole or part. Having these statements is a necessary beginning since we must establish a platform to attract, challenge and help in the community's social and political growth. The caucus will, of course, lend support to the struggles of the LGBT community within the structure of the Greens' Ten Key Values. Releasing statements and running issue campaigns will be among the tasks taken by the New Jersey Lavender Greens.
